blogging lethargy

yeah.... so....

sorry to all my faithful readers.

I have just been so bleh for the last two weeks. I have been doing some cool stuff but have been so darn tired and not in a bloggy mood.

I hate that I always start something, get hot on it and then peter out after a while. It's a common malady I think.

So let me bring you up to date.

I kicked ass at the MAG-24 race and beat my goal time by a minute, ran a 1:03:33 and got the bronze medal in my age group. Results here

I kicked ass again at the Honolulu Tri. 2 hours 19 minutes- 18 minutes FASTER than last year... Super whoop ass bike split- I was dropping radioactive laser pellets of destruction the entire way (this is good). I also wore my svelte new tri suit which shows off 1) my heartfelt allegiance and thanks to the HACC, who are awesome and inspiring, 2)the fact that I'm down 20+ lbs since new year and 3) more penis than i had hoped. Turns out black really is the color for crotchal spandex, blue can be a little more revealing.
results here pictures here

I've also been building my own harpsichord, genetically altering carrots to be less orange and starting a polar bear wrestling team (that's a team of people who wrestle polar bears, not a team of polar bears who wrestle). All are going as well as you would expect based on my track record of finishing things I start.

Here's something fun. (Yay! an activity!)Leave a comment on here with what you think I'm saying in the candid photo below that was taken at bike to work day in downtown Honolulu last Friday. The poster of the best quote gets an autographed picture of any historical figure, athlete or celebrity they like (autograph authenticity not guaranteed). The more insulting the better, so bring it.

If it's any matter, i remember what i was saying at the time, and am quite sure both those gals and that guy thought I was a jackass, as is traditionally the case when people talk to me for the first time.

Race Preview: MAG-24

well it's not much of a preview because the race is in less than 3 hours, but thought I'd throw something out there with my goals for this race.

Ran the MAG-24 last year in around 1:12, which was a pretty good time. this year, I'd really like to do it in 1:05. I think it's doable.

Last year I swam a 10:30, but last fall in the Splash & Dash I swam the same course in 8:57. Hoping for 9 minutes today.

I think I'll do pretty well on the bike. Last year I rode a 32:26 but hopefully this year I can smoke it and do something more like 29:30.

I ran the same 3.5 mile run course in the Splash & Dash in 25 minutes last year, an improvement over the 27:33 I ran in the triathlon. Hoping for 25 minutes again today.

Add in a minute or so of transition and my goal for the day is 1:04:30... that would be pretty fast! That time would have garnered a 27th/230 overall and 5th/30 in the age group.

Mitigating factors are the fact that I haven't really worked out in over a week and the 4 hours of sleep I'll be racing on. Creature woke me up with her alarm this morning.

It's Over

Faithful readers (especially those dependent on this blog to stay sane); my heartfelt apologies for not being more bloggy and posty this week.

I'm done with my big project and it was, as you would expect, wildly successful. It will likely go down in history as yet another of the watershed moments marking my meteoric rise to power.

can you have a meteoric rise?
